“Isle of the Arts” by host and producer Mary Rose Anderson will focus on local culture and arts. The 45-minute weekly, live program will feature artists, comedians, actors musicians and more.

Anderson’s debut show May 17 will feature the cast and crew of a live KWPA radio show performance this June: “Old Time Radio: Live on Stage.” The show, which will be held at Fort Casey, will feature original 1940s radio scripts from programs such as “Sherlock Holmes.”

“The premiere of my show will be one of my most ambitious,” said Anderson.

She added she will interview characters from the various radio plays and demonstrate some of their auditory tricks for fun.

“Isle of the Arts” will air every Monday beginning May 17 at 12:15 p.m. KWPA serves the entire island. Those out of reach of the station’s signal can hear programs streaming 24 hours a day at www.kwparadio.org.
