Honoring Dr. King

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. event at the House of Prayer will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 and feature singing, dancing and Joydie Rattry-Ellis as a speaker. The public is invited. The church is also hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. event at the Navy exchange on base, which will start at 11 a.m. on Jan. 14. This program will feature more performances and historical information about Dr. King. Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations began in the city by the Oak Harbor Black Citizens Association in the 80s.
