Tenley Gidlofl, 4-months-old, sits on the lap of her mother Rachel Zylstra Gidlofl of Covington. In the middle is the great-great-grandmother Doris Janz, formerly of Tacoma, but for the past 10 years of life in Oak Harbor. She turns 100 on March 12, just after Tenley turns 1. The March 3 arrival of Tenley Kay Gidlofl marked the fifth generation for the Oak Harbor family. On the far left is the great-grandmother Katherine Morse, of Oak Harbor, with Melissa Johnson Zylstra, grandmother to Tenley and mother to Rachel. Melissa grew up in Oak Harbor, graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1982. A celebration of Doris’s 100 years and Tenley’s first year will be held in March in Oak Harbor.
