Art school celebrating 30 years Saturday with auction event

The Pacific Northwest Art School is inviting the public to attend its 30-year anniversary celebration and silent auction Saturday night.

The event is the major year-end fundraiser for the school, which has been bringing notable art instructors and their students to Central Whidbey since 1987.

“Pearls and Prosecco,” an evening of celebration and cheer, will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the school, which is located at 15 N.W. Birch St. in Coupeville.

The silent auction will feature “pearls” from the school’s art collection that have been tucked away in a storage closet.

A Jan Hoy contemporary sculpture and Seahawks tickets for the Dec. 24 game against the Arizona Cardinals also will be part of the auction. Admission is $3.

Light refreshments will be provided by the Oystercatcher and Prosecco by bayleaf. There also will be a cash bar for those 21 and older.
