Ways we can always remember

In reference to the recent “Sound off” article by Christi Karvasek, “Always remember …”

I couldn’t agree more. In 1988, I read a book on this very subject. The author, realizing that many of the Holocaust survivors were aging, set about on a project to take oral and written histories from those who he could contact who were willing to share. He combined it with available historical information to paint as complete a picture as I have ever read.

The book is titled “The Journey Back from Hell” and it is written by Anton Gill. It’s a long, complicated read but, in my opinion, well worth it. Another good book on another difficult subject is “At Dawn We Slept” by Gordon W. Prange. It is an accounting, from both sides, of Pearl Harbor.

Thank you again for the article.
