Congratulations Coupeville in participating in Lt. Watada’s path to Hollywood success. We all agree he is a very well spoken and well educated young man, then why didn’t he read the contract he signed when he joined the military?
He has succeeded in taking up a great deal of our media time with his martyrdom filled story. As a Navy Reserve officer, I am very aware of being given assignments I may not feel are fair or convenient, but I could not imagine taking such an extreme stand to meet my own desires and disregard what I signed up for.
Look at all the taxpayer money that is being spent on this coward’s pursuit for fame. I’m sure he will be rewarded substantially for actions with a wonderful Hollywood story or movie deal. Too bad the comrades who willingly went to Iraq to defend his right to take this cowardly stand will not receive the same fame.
Good Job, Lt. Watada, but I hope you think about your comrades when you revel in this short lived fame and some day thank them for their bravery. I seriously doubt you have that capacity.
