WAIF fails its core mission

WAIF’s core mission is to connect homeless animals to people who are willing and able to adopt them. In the case of Smiley, WAIF has gone out of its way for several months now to avoid giving this dog the chance he deserves to live with a family who has fully proven their readiness to adopt him.

To justify its refusal to give Smiley to a good home, WAIF has cited several reasons that simply don’t compute. If Smiley’s attitude and behavioral disposition have deteriorated during this protracted stand-off, the fault lies largely with WAIF.

Even at this late date in what has become a self-inflicted public relations problem for WAIF, let’s give Smiley the chance he still deserves by giving him to the family who, through all of this, still wants to adopt him. What a pity it would be if WAIF decides to kill him instead.
