Two to help us move forward

I would like to encourage everyone to vote in the upcoming primary and November’s general election. We all tend to complain about government bureaucracy from time to time, but if we haven’t voted we have little reason for such complaint.

I would also like to recommend to you two of my friends who are running for city office: Jim Slowik for mayor, and Jim Palmer for city council. I have known both of these gentlemen for a number of years. I know both Jim Palmer and Jim Slowik to be honest, hard-working local businessmen who will use their intelligence and common sense for the benefit of all the citizens of Oak Harbor.

And maybe more importantly, both of these gentlemen have expressed the desire to place an emphasis on consensus-building at the city council so that the city can move forward while still maintaining the good quality of life that we all desire.
