I am disappointed at the Whidbey News-Times’ decision to run a lengthy feature on Mr. Watada. While his appearance in Coupeville was newsworthy, the length of the article seems to indicate that the paper sympathizes with Watada’s views.

He is a disgrace to the U.S. military. His actions show that he is not an honorable man, and his words prove him to be either ignorant of his oath or an outright liar. Those of us associated with the military know that the only subject Watada should be contemplating is which tool will best help him break the big rocks into little ones at Leavenworth.
