While the reader may be correct in writing in his Oct. 26 letter that odd-number and even-number highways are literally designated as to whether they travel east/west or north/south, we non-literal drivers will unequivocally say that Highway 20 does indeed travel north/south on Whidbey Island the minute you cross the Deception Pass bridge from Fidalgo Island.
