There’s hope, but it’s elsewhere

According to Solomon, the three things a person needs to be happy are water, food and work.

In the town of 200 I grew up in, there used to be a car manufacturing plant. In past days you could order parts, weld them together and license it. How far we’ve come. I can’t put in a window, make a weld, cut a lock of hair, bake a cake for money or cook a soup in a church. I can’t even sell a can of soda without a food handler’s license, as if soda was food. Gov. Gregoire ruined at least one family’s business as attorney general with the child labor law. What a shame.

So, the loathful state has apparently regulated, taxed, and indebted us out of the joy of working for fun and profit. Can we turn it around when it only seems to be picking up speed?

God’s law states that whatever you do for someone will return measure for measure, sifted, compacted, and spread in your lap. So there’s hope, but it’s entirely outside our government.
