I would like to thank all of those responsible for ending our long national nightmare by removing the old Berg Ford building on Highway 20. Thank you to the city council for granting the approval necessary. Thank you to the corporation that purchased the property with plans to actually use it. Thank you to the manufacturer that provided the pen that was used to draw up the building contracts. Thank you to the tree that was used to provide the paper for the contracts. Thank you to the heavy equipment used in the process of tearing down, removing and, best of all, flattening the entire area.
Thank you to the Arab sheik who sold them the oil. Thank you to the construction workers who operated the heavy machinery. Thank you to their wives for providing them with the breakfast that fueled their bodies. Thank you to the cows that provided the milk, the chickens that provided the eggs and the pigs that provided the bacon (may they rest in peace).
Most of all, thank you to God for providing the right climate conditions during the process and for giving someone somewhere the idea that something simply had to be done with that building sometime before the world comes to an end.
