Serve the walking papers

I really appreciate the “Sound Off” section (Whidbey News-Times, Sept. 27) written by Mr. Brady on the septic rules that will now be costing most Island County residents hundreds of dollars a year for pumping and inspection of their septic systems. All his points are very good and valid. Why didn’t our elected officials represent the people instead of going in a different direction? They have forgotten who they are responsible to. Shame on them.

I will vote in the general election, as I did in the primary. If they are an incumbent, I will not vote for them. Throw them all out and start anew. Ask yourself, are you better off now than two or four years ago? If not, let your vote speak loud and clear. Send a message to those we elect. We are still a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
