School taxes out of control

My taxes went up $400.08: $263.74 to schools, $90.34 to EMS, the rest spread out here and there.

I now pay 56.24 percent of my taxes to schools. Let’s get real people! When is it ever going to stop? I’ll tell you, when people learn how to start checking no when they go to vote.

I hope that everyone that voted yes got hit the hardest. I’m on a fixed income like many others and know when to say enough is enough. Cuts should start at the top rather than at the bottom. I’ll be dead or taxed out of my house before we see that happen.

I remember back when the military had to make huge cuts in spending and make realistic budgets. Heads rolled if budget cuts weren’t met. That’s what needs to happen in the schools. But I guess we’ll see more students’ heads than administrators’ heads rolling by.
