Rule change costs taxpayers

It seems our Washington State representatives are trying to sneak something over on taxpayers again!

Under SB 5498, a bill requested by the governor and passed by large majorities in both houses, unless a tax levy says it is temporary, its authority is permanent.

So says the Department of Revenue in an official memo to county assessors. In effect, this change in the state law regarding property taxes has silently transformed what have been temporary taxes into permanent ones!

What is wrong with you so-called representatives that we taxpayers elected? Are you out of your minds? This is misrepresentation of the highest order.

Now the question is, which one of you is going to right this wrong!
