This a letter from a concerned parent and citizen about the management and decisions made by North Whidbey Aquatic Club Oak Harbor.

I just read Fred Stillwell’s letter dated Aug. 9, “President is much loved? By whom?”
Although I certainly can agree that posters or pictures of the president in the local post office should not be defaced, I have some quarrel with the writer of the letter to the editor in the Aug. 6 Whidbey News-Times.
I have known Martha Rose for almost 20 years. I’ve worked with her on the Steering Committee of the Sustainable Whidbey Coalition for several years and know her to be a person of integrity with a deep passion and commitment to Island Transit.
I read with amusement in the Aug. 6, 2014 Whidbey News-Times a letter bemoaning disrespect of our “much-loved” president.
Editor,
More history, please.
Tuesday’s outstanding historic tour of Coupeville led by Paul Whelan was very well attended.
The hour-and-a-half, mile-long walk around town entertained and informed us all.
With regard to the Aug. 2, 2014 issue of the Whidbey News-Times:
I read Sandra Kuykendall’s letter and found it very informative. She has now stated for the record that Island Transit has studies in hand concerning bus fares.
Recently, Whidbey General Hospital’s Emergency Department received a call that two rescue helicopters were about to land with seven children and two adults who had flipped their kayaks in turbulent water.
First let me just say, “Shame on you, editor of the Whidbey News-Times.”
How appalling that our wonderful Island Transit service we’ve been proud to support is threatened by poor management and lack of supervision.
