The June 12 article (Questions sprout about Greenbank Farm tree orchard) states “the Port of Coupeville, the entity that owns the farm”?? I thought the farm was owned and supported by the taxpayers. We, the taxpayers, should have more information about what is going on at the farm.

For instance, where are the cute alpacas that drew walkers to their fences, who owns the horses that have replaced them (and are the owners paying board?), why is the loganberry patch — the last remnant of the farm’s history — in a state of disrepair? We live in Greenbank and enjoy the farm every day as we walk our little dog there. How could the Port even consider giving up a large part of the beautiful open space that makes the farm so special.
