Oak Harbor City Council action to bankrupt downtown

The downtown merchants want to know what time of the day that the construction of the one-way street will be. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out. How about day time from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Anything other than that the workers pay is double or even triple time. This would raise the cost of this completely unnecessary project to well over $8.5 million.

If the downtown merchants want to see what Pioneer Way will turn into, just drive out to the Oak Harbor Road project and drive from Whidbey Avenue to Crosby Road and they will see what they are in for. I personally would not drive through that kind of mess any time, day or night.

This project that the Oak Harbor City Council were so eager to push through will bankrupt most of the down town merchants.
