Next time, bring a ladder

I think it’s time for Ms. Casebeer to go to the “time out room” for not checking her facts before spouting off about the red, black and white flags and who paid for them (Letters, Feb. 20).

The Coupeville School District did not, those flags were purchased by the Coupeville High School Booster Club. All she would have had to do was call a school board member or the district office. As for her point, again she could have spoken to someone at the district level to find out if the school has been trying to deal with the flag vs. wind issue from the start of the school year.

They must get a ladder to raise or lower the flag and if the wind blows (which, of course, we all know never happens here) they again must get somebody on the ladder to untwist it. I’d rather my education tax dollars be spent on just that, education, rather than a constant flag monitor. Perhaps Ms. Casebeer would like to bring her ladder over each time she sees the flag wrapped around the pole from her front window.
