Name change will cause more confusion | Letter

In the 38 years since returning to my childhood hometown, Whidbey General Hospital has served as a beacon for those seeking a variety of health care services.

Editor,

I have read numerous opinions lately concerning the name change for our local hospital, almost all of them negative.

In the 38 years since returning to my childhood hometown, Whidbey General Hospital has served as a beacon for those seeking a variety of health care services.

Necessity and confusion seem to be key issues regarding the change of name, hospital officials said.

Are you serious? Has anybody really gotten confused over where medical services on Whidbey Island can be found? I don’t think so.

I believe people would be more likely to confuse WhidbeyHealth with a New Age spa. Why waste time and valuable resources to change something already effectively conveying the nature of the services being offered?
