If you have not seen the movie “Miss Potter,” you should. It is available in stores to buy or you can rent it now.

Miss Potter was one of the first women to save the farm from greedy developers. Yes! Developers! In 1913 farmers were being persuaded to sell their farms. Beatrix started the next stage of her life, purchasing farmland with the money that her books brought in, and kept them working farms. When she died on Dec. 22, 1943, Beatrix Potter left 14 farms and 4,000 acres of land to the National Trust.

Enjoy this picturesque, brilliantly acted, portrayal of Beatrix Potter. She is the most widely read children’s author, an artist, and (bravo!), a farmer.
