Lions serve, you can help

The Oak Harbor Lions Club thanks those of you who invested in this community through your continued support of our three fruit sales this past summer. These annual sales, along with our Christmas tree sale starting in November, are the main source of the funds we use to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids for those unable to afford them, scholarships, a medical equipment loan program, Special Olympics, Lions Camp Horizon (a camp for disabled children and adults), Help House, and many others.

Our flag program, supported primarily by Oak Harbor merchants, is another vital source of funding, and we hope you will thank those businesses that display the American flags we put out on holidays and special days, such as September 11.

In fulfilling our motto, “We Serve,” we also donate many hours of work, including the building of the new playground at Head Start, building handicap ramps for those unable to afford to pay for labor, and sponsoring Puget Sound Blood Center drives. If you have willing hands and heart, we’d be happy to have you join us. For information, please call Bill Cheaqui at 240-9483.
