Letter: Why are our tax dollars going to places that are closed?

Editor,

As we face yet another 30-day lockdown, I ask again, why are our tax dollars going to places that have been closed since pretty much March?

When is the last time you could go to the library? Where do students go to study?

Your local pool that struggled to pass a levy just started to do some events and now, guess what, maybe they will focus on outdoor activities more.

Schools are mostly empty and I am guessing most tax-funded entities have not done much since at least March in the manner of face to face services.

Private businesses reopened for a time, but what about public? They have your money already and it is for your safety to be remained closed is the selling point.

Seems fishy or lazy too me.

Now they have offered services, as well as adjusted for the times, and I try and be objective.

I think it is reasonable for an accommodation be made in both state and local taxes to subside the lack of services that are being provided.

I can only imagine how much government waste is occurring now.
