Letter: Town should be ashamed to pass ordinance

Editor,

Shame on the Coupeville Town Council. The recent ordinance outlawing feeding of deer and other wild creatures is shameful. There is, as usual, a typical governmental special interest carve-out, allowing the feeding of wild birds.

Trying to “solve” the situation of deer wandering around town by outlawing feeding is somewhat reasonable, since the deer can still eat vegetation.

However, expanding that ordinance to the feeding of feral cats is shameful and hateful.

Where is your sense of inclusion, acceptance of others and the respect that all lives matter? No, it seems the council is speciesist, where the only race they care about is homosapien.
