Letter: Time to replace county’s system of good old boys

Editor,

This is my response to the “Sound Off” written by (Island County Prosecutor) Greg Banks and published on Oct. 31, 2018. Well, if you ever wanted to know how liberal my opponent is, Greg Banks just confirmed it.

Don’t kid yourself, this is the good old boy system that’s been alive and well in the Sheriff’s office and the prosecutor’s office for decades.

“You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” “Don’t make any waves.”

There are people within the county government who are truly scared of me becoming sheriff. They know they will be exposed for who they are and have always been. I get a firsthand look every day on how well our drug court program works.

When these people continue to offend, they’re called “hiccups.” If you as a non-substance abuser re-offends, you’re called “inmate.”

It’s truly time to move on from the good old boys and vote Lane Campbell for sheriff.
