Letter: Students more active, interactive in virtual environment

Editor,

This is in response to Calvin R. Hart’s letter to the editor in the Dec. 16 edition of the newspaper.

In my years of teaching both face-to-face and virtually, it has been my experience that many students never speak up in class and often have little or no individual contact with the teacher.

I have found that these students in a virtual environment are more active and interactive. They have less fear of being ridiculed, laughed at or bullied.

During the pandemic I have spoken with numerous families, and they report that their children in most cases are seeing their grades go up and their leaning enhanced.

Not certain where Mr. Hart gathers his information and expertise.
