I will be voting to re-elect Island County Commissioner Janet St. Clair and urge my neighbors to do the same. Commissioner St. Clair is a competent and details-focused individual. She has kept communication open with her constituents holding frequent town hall meetings. She met the challenges of the pandemic on the local level by coordinating with the federal response. She shares the “kitchen table” concerns of the working people and retired workers, the issues that have so much to do with quality of life at the local level: improving mental health care and substance abuse programs, increasing broadband capacity, environmental sustainability, recognizing the immediacy of the need to plan for climate change. Janet St. Clair served the people of Island County well and deserves to be re-elected.
