Editor,
This past Monday, I attended a yoga class, which was interrupted by fly-overs. The deafening noise incapacitated our instructor and she suspended class.
Students held hands over ears —we could not hear each other to establish a later date for class.
That day, the jets flew from 10 a.m. until well into the night. I have personally experience flights past midnight.
If this scene is not an example of extreme, unacceptable noise levels for humans and animals, I cannot imagine what is.
Our poor animals cannot shield their ears.
I understand the Navy’s need to practice. Yet I yearn for the quality of life I remember here in Central Whidbey just a few years ago. We and the Navy should be neighborly.
