Letter: Salerno, Bobis, Fleming are right for Langley

Editor,

I am writing to encourage you, my Langley neighbors, to vote for these three candidates to the city council: Rhonda Salerno, Harolynne Bobis and Gail Fleming. They are unique individuals who exhibit some shared values.

Rhonda Salerno has years of environmental and planning experience here in Langley. Rhonda is also a member of the Climate Crisis Action Committee. Rhonda is passionate about affordable housing. Harolynne Bobis has years of relevant experience in high levels of administration in Seattle city government. Harolynne is also a member of Langley’s Dismantling Systemic Racism Advisory Group. Gail has served on two advisory boards here is Langley: Parks and Open Spaces and Planning Advisory Board. Gail Fleming is passionate about the environment.

They all are well-educated, highly experienced people. They are people of integrity and kindness. They are each great communicators and listeners. They care about the environment and climate action. They care about equity. They love Langley and want to contribute their decades of relevant experience in service to us, citizens of Langley. These three will be excellent members of Langley’s City Council and work for the common good.

Note: remember to write in Gail Fleming for Position 5. Scott Chaplin has, since filing to run for this position, become our mayor, so please write in Gail Fleming. Scott’s name will still appear on the ballot but he is not running. Vote for Gail Fleming in Position 5.
