Letter: Rainbow represents inclusivity

Editor,

Recently there was a letter to the editor by Ms. Mabel Hansen (June 17), which raised questions about the Gay Pride flag painted on the street in Coupeville and its relationship to inclusivity.

There’s quite a simple answer to your question Ms. Hansen, it’s in the rainbow. Rainbows contain all colors including red, yellow, green, brown and more, which is why it was chosen. The flag recognizes and celebrates the diversity of our wonderful human community. And, yes, that includes red, white and blue. Our diversity and ability to evolve as a democracy is what makes America great. Thank you for your question.
