Letter: Putin, Trump are two of a kind

Editor,

Vladimir Putin’s invasion into Ukraine and indiscriminate bombings of hospitals, apartments, children’s centers show the world the horrors of his bankrupt character and ideology. The murder of innocent people and destruction of many of this beautiful country’s cities is beyond unconscionable and immoral. It’s wasteful, pointless and indefensible. What right could he make that a sovereign country is his for the taking?

The Ukrainian people have a right to forge their own destiny. The arrogance of Putin is beyond the pale. He does not deserve to be president of Russia and, no, I’m not suggesting regime change either. I hope everyone has noticed that Russian TV is talking and singing of their “partner Trump.” Disgusting. Remember Trump saying “Putin is a genius”?! Is he a genius because he uses his army for murder and destruction? Disgusting! Neither of these men should ever be in any office ever, not even dog catcher.

I would hope Americans are paying attention and dare not try to put Trump up for president again. Putin and Trump have no moral compass, character and do not care about anyone but themselves. Greed, narcissism and exploitation are their guiding principles which are revolting and repellent in a leader. My wish is that Putin and Trump would join hands and disappear into the Black Sea never to be heard of again. That is a scenario that many in the world could applaud.
