On Saturday, Oct. 10 I received a hit piece accusing Helen Price Johnson of supporting higher taxes. For those looking for facts, Helen has for years worked with fellow commissioners to limit Island County taxes, to pare expenses.

Island County’s tax rank published in the Whidbey News-Times is 10th lowest out of 39 Washington counties. The hit piece is from WA Forward/The Leadership Council. It would be interesting to search their interests online.

I would suggest these pro-development donors would lead to higher taxes and lower quality of life in our district, not Helen Price Johnson.
