Letter: Price Johnson’s experience as commissioner needed in the state Senate

Editor,

I have known Helen Price Johnson for a number of years, since moving to Coupeville. I have seen her caring leadership style as an Island County commissioner. Helen and her family have been part of our community, and she has always contributed and cared about our well being. She will represent our needs as a rural community and work on behalf of the people in our district.

I know Helen has the experience to hit the ground running. To serve in the Senate, she will draw on her 12 years of experience as a county commissioner and as the past president of the Washington Association of Counties.

Helen will be a strong voice to restore community health services depleted by the pandemic. Our state and our region are in a crisis right now, and we need strong leadership at the state level to help us get through this as well as assist the people and small businesses hurt by the shutdowns.

Helen Price Johnson has earned the respect and trust of Island County citizens for years, and she will do likewise for the 10th Legislative District as our state senator.

Join me in voting for Helen Price Johnson for state senator.
