People-power — volunteers are active in Oak Harbor working to re-open the John Vanderzicht pool.

It closed last year.

A levy on the Nov. 6 ballot must pass to restore financing for it and other recreational events in the community. It will cost the average taxpayer approximately only $5 a month.

Please vote “yes.”

The pool is a great asset in Oak Harbor. There are young and older competitive swim teams. The Jacuzzi and sauna are health healing. Water aerobics exercises and the weight room for muscle building are quality of life experiences.

Underwater diving and certification are scheduled, as are small-group learning of paddle skills for canoeing and surf boards.

Besides the already mentioned, there’s a meeting room available for groups and chairs for group parties along with swims and birthdays. Various ages with health issues, young and old, find hydrotherapy at our pool helpful and enjoyable.
