Letter: Navy failing to follow through with promises

Editor,

Quite a few years ago, during the Environmental Impact Statement 106 historical hearing process, the Navy agreed to landscape around those ugly concrete blocks they placed around the OLF Coupeville to protect against someone driving on the outlying field. This actually happened only once.

So, where is the landscaping? Or is this just another lie from the Navy?

It is going to be very interesting to watch the progression of the “sound monitoring” that the Navy is now supposed to do. Are we just going to be fed more lies? Another task that never is done? Citizens being ignored.

At least this time, we are backed up by U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen and U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell, to whom we are very grateful.
