Letter: Musk’s terms for dissenters is telling

Editor,

I just came across something that’s chilled me to the very marrow in my bones. Musk has now taken to referring to those who do not agree with him as NPCs, a gaming acronym for “non-playing characters,” or those who cannot think and act for themselves. This has the odor of the Nazis’ reference of untermenschen, meaning subhumans. Constant use of this term made it easier for Hitler and his merry band of murderers to exterminate the people he believed were unnecessary and thus expendable. We all noticed Musk thrusting out his stiff right arm during a recent rally, an action reminiscent of the Third Reich salute to the Fuhrer. That was disturbing enough, made even more so by the delighted reaction of his adoring crowds.

What is this country coming to when the Third Reich becomes a blueprint for our future political agenda? Does anybody out there believe that it’s the right way for the country to proceed? Am I the only one to be disturbed by all that’s now going on in the environment of the Republican right?
