Letter: Keep in mind, America’s adversaries are watching

Editor,

We as a community are divided over the Navy’s continued use of Outlying Field Coupeville for fleet carrier flight crew bounce training.

A word or two of caution, I believe, is in order.

If standing in the shoes of truly hostile adversaries, would you think at a time of a nation’s perceived weakness they might test that nation’s true strength?

Reference the dysfunctional “other Washington”: Weak or perceived as weak?

Wars have begun over less, my friends. Food for thought.

Thomas Strang
