Letter: Housing needed for Shakespeare Festival cast

Editor,

This is an appeal.

No … this is a passionate appeal.

OK … this is begging!

If you have an extra private bedroom and bath in your home or on your property in Clinton or Langley, could you please, please, please house an actor or designer for Island Shakespeare Festival this summer? The dates needed are June 7 through Sept. 10.

Commuter vehicles are also needed to get actors to and from the tent on Maxwelton Road in Langley, where the bus doesn’t always run. Do you have one you could loan us for a fully licensed and insured driver?

Island Shakespeare Festival is a nonprofit organization, determined to bring accessible outdoor theater to the good citizens of Whidbey and the region. William Shakespeare, the greatest playwright of all time, needs to be seen and heard or he will go away for good. Art needs to be seen and heard. Your children and grandchildren will be grateful that it all survived in part because you cared. Will you help us keep Shakespeare alive and well for the next generation?

Please help with an email to patricia.duff@islandshakespearefest.org with ISF housing or ISF vehicle in the subject line.

Thank you tenfold.
