Letter: Foundation appreciates community support

Editor,

The South Whidbey Schools Foundation wishes to thank our community for its financial support during our recent online fundraiser. This was an extremely challenging year for educators and students, not to mention parents. But we got through it.

The staff at the South Whidbey School District did an amazing job making the best of what was. We had very few teacher grant requests this past year due to remote learning, but we were able to expand the Native American book and resources in the library and the second graders created a rain garden to solve a flooding issue near the school gardens.

We also helped enable the outside kindergarten classroom with added supplies for use at home.

We are blessed with a great and generous community, one that gives from the heart and supports learning. A special thank you to our business sponsors during this time.

We are excited to see what next year brings and how we can best support education at our public schools. Please visit our website at https://swsfoundation.org for fun videos showing what your donations supported.
