Letter: Athiest: Perhaps ask god to end miscarriages

Editor,

My wife drove me on a rare trip to Oak Harbor from where we live in Langley. As we entered the city, I saw two women holding signs against abortion.

I believe they are very sincere. Many pregnancies end spontaneously in miscarriages. I would suggest as respectfully as I can that they protest to god — with a lowercase ‘g” — that god should stop all miscarriages.

I do not apologize for being an atheist. If you meet me anywhere on Whidbey, I will invite you to meet me in hell to excoriate me and damn me as probably the only atheist on our fair isle.

You may print my name. I do not speak for my wife of 55 faithful years.
