Letter: A quality mask perhaps better than $1,200 check

Editor,

Taking a cue from my auto mechanic who always looks for the simplest problem leading to an obviously solution: Would we all not be better off if instead of massive financial stimulus our government would better spend its money on ramping up N95 mask production and giving everyone a hundred masks to get us through the year until a vaccine is available.

With these masks we could all return to a semblance of normality. A payment of $1,200 won’t save my life, or yours.

A quality mask just might suffice.
