Island County GOP is hypocritical

I have read with interest and sometimes amusement, the recent letters to the editor. The Island County Republican Party is outraged that our Sen. Haugen opened an office in Oak Harbor. I must admit this is losing its amusement; hypocrites wear on me after a time.

Where was the outcry from the same writers and Republican Party officials when Chris Strow opened his office on Goldie Road, or when Norma Smith opened hers? Where was their outrage when Dino Rossi violated federal rules and most likely laws when he campaigned and fund-raised on the base, as reported in this paper. This is not the first violation for Dino.

Where is the outrage when Commissioner McDowell had public employees work on his campaign during office hours? If they do not find this last one repugnant if not illegal what will it take? How does that saying go? Don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house. I just wish I owned a glass company; I think some hypocrites will be replacing a lot of their own windows, here on Whidbey!
