Holiday effort boosts WAIF

In times of economic stress, an intelligent business collaboration that thinks outside the box is a wonderful thing! This past weekend Penn Cove Productions generously donated over 30 percent from every ticket sold for their “Postcards from Whidbey Island” live radio performances to the Whidbey Animals Improvement Foundation new shelter fund!

This was a wonderful Christmas gift to WAIF. It helped to raise funds for WAIF, gave WAIF supporters and others the chance to participate in a holiday performance with the messages of compassion, tolerance and love, and helped WAIF remind everyone of the inestimable value of animals in our lives.

The delightful Whidbey community based “Postcards from Whidbey Island” spreads the word about the best parts of life on Whidbey. It was a win, win relationship and we at WAIF were grateful to be presented this gift and proud to be a part of the event.

WAIF’s efforts, over the past 20 years, have been and will endeavor to continue to be, the expression of the attitude of its Whidbey Island community. Together we have developed a reputation, recognized nationwide among accomplished animal welfare advocates, that Whidbey Island treats companion animals humanely with compassion and respect. With the enormous support of its community, WAIF has established itself as a very effective adoption shelter with enough business acumen to “stretch every dime into a dollar.”

The Whidbey Island community’s continued confidence and constant outpouring of support shows that we are all committed to work together toward the goal of “a loving home for every pet.” Sincere thanks to Penn Cove Productions and to all of Whidbey’s animal loving community who join with WAIF during the holidays and always, to make Whidbey Island such a good place for dogs and cats.
