The 2010 elections will very soon be over after what has seemed an endless period. I do not know Mary Engle but I do know Dave Mattens our present county assessor. I am in the South Whidbey Rotary Club and Dave Mattens is our club secretary and doing a good job.

As far as I am concerned Dave has done a fine job as auditor for the past four years bringing our county into the 21st Century. He has led the county’s upgrade of the auditor’s computerized data system by getting a federal grant so all tax records are kept up to date and land segregation is done in a timely manner. Just these changes will help keep costs under control.
