Langley Mayor Tim Callison should be congratulated for fiscal responsibility rather than face condemnation for passing along an invoice from a lawyer to the South Whidbey Record.

“Fourth estate” membership does not grant a reporter the right to start the meter running with a contracted city attorney without prior official authorization and expect the city to foot the bill.

Freedom of the press does not imply ‘free of charge,” and Sound Publishing should apologize for self righteous entitled conduct, inappropriate accusations and then pay up.
