Fire station replaced earlier

In “Fire levy goes down in flames,” (News-Times, Feb. 23) you wrote, “In addition to the planned replacement of the Heller Road Fire Station, officials also hope to improve the stations on Cornet Bay Road and San de Fuca, both of which were built in the 1960s.”

Same information in the fire district’s levy brochure. Who checks this stuff for accuracy? Check your stacks!

The San de Fuca fire station was replaced in the late 1980s with the Monroe Landing Fire Station. We live in Penn Cove Park, first served from the San de Fuca location and now by new Monroe Landing location. When we approved that levy it was strictly to replace that old fire station building — they can’t pull that one on folks again.
