Father of victim appreciates Whidbey

Thanks Whidbey Island! Thanks for your hospitality and compassion during the last one and a half weeks during my stay on Whidbey Island attending the trial of the women who killed my son on Highway 20 last September.

Thanks Whidbey Island! Thanks for your hospitality and compassion during the last one and a half weeks during my stay on Whidbey Island attending the trial of the women who killed my son on Highway 20 last September. Now that Miss Bowling has pled guilty and Miss Weichert has been found guilty, both of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault, I’ve returned home to Colorado, hoping my family can continue its healing.

I was moved by the support from so many Island County people during my stay there: the entire prosecutor’s office, especially David and Sharon, the staff at the Coupeville Inn, the chefs and servers at Christopher’s, Knead and Feed, and other places we dined, including the cafeteria at Whidbey General Hospital. I even had the unwelcome opportunity of benefiting from the excellent emergency services of Scotty’s towing and Morgan’s Automotive.

Thanks Whidbey Island, for making a difficult time more bearable.
