Erect figures of council, mayor in dead of night | Letter

I have a much better idea for use of the felled Garry oak tree than the ones noted in the Saturday edition of the Whidbey News-Times. My idea is more apt to capture the true spirit of our Oak Harbor leaders.

Editor,

I have a much better idea for use of the felled Garry oak tree than the ones noted in the Saturday edition of the Whidbey News-Times. My idea is more apt to capture the true spirit of our Oak Harbor leaders.

On the stump of the tree should be a sign stating “RIP 2014.” Around the tree should be wood figurines carved in the likeness of Mayor Dudley and the Oak Harbor City Council — all holding axes.

And to add irony to the situation, those figurines should be placed in the dead of night.
