I hope the recent budgetary letter from Island County department heads results in constructive budget choices by our county commissioners. It is prudent at this time of financial strain to focus on necessary services.
With that said I question the need on the part of the departments’ leadership acting as a group to write a position paper and publicly present it to the commissioners. Is there a communication problem between Island County governmental department heads and the three County commissioners?
Unfortunately no warm fuzzy feeling here to support due diligence rendered by the majority of voters in recently past local county elections. We’ll soon realize elections have consequences we may not like and pay dearly for in the future.
