My income went down last year, way down. I’m spending less. Way less. How come government can’t do the same? Is it too much to ask that the elected ones be held to the same standards that we hold ourselves to?
One person falling overboard without a life jacket, a dog spending a week on a ledge or a kitty stuck in a tree is a tragedy to some but it does not constitute a crisis. Why do the elected ones trot out the worst-case scenario every time they’ve overspent?
You say cutting WSU Extension and Senior Services won’t plug the hole but isn’t it a place to start? Why not start with the nonessentials then ask for a smaller tax increase or none at all before trotting out the bogeyman? Instead you act like a petulant child and threaten to gut programs that make some people really scared until you get your way. That’s not governance. That’s extortion.
I’m voting no.
